We’re excited to welcome Mahendran Nathan as Symbiotic’s Global Head of Onchain Solutions.
Mahen joins us with more than 25 years of experience across institutional asset management, capital formation, and investing. As CEO and Regional Head of Société Générale Asset Management for Asia Pacific, he helped grow the regional platform from $300 million to $15 billion in AUM, working with sovereign wealth funds, central banks, pension funds, insurers, and other institutional investors.
He later served as CEO for ASEAN, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and India at Russell Investments. More recently, Mahen has been on the other side of the table as an allocator across public and private markets, including private equity, private credit, and real assets.
His arrival comes at an important point in Symbiotic’s evolution.
The industry has spent years building the technology required to bring assets and financial applications onchain. The next challenge is bringing institutional capital with them.
That requires more than access to an onchain asset.
Pension funds, insurers, private banks, family offices, corporate treasuries, and onchain-native investors have fundamentally different requirements around investment structures, liquidity, reporting, governance, and risk.
Building around those requirements will be central to Mahen’s role at Symbiotic.
As Global Head of Onchain Solutions, he’ll lead the design of investment solutions for asset owners and allocators, alongside capital formation and institutional coverage across the U.S., EMEA, and APAC.
